Fishing
Report/Highway 4 Corridor for September 19th~From Bill Reynolds
Posted
by: Kim_Hamilton
The North Fork of the Stanislaus has been producing some nice Brown
Trout as of late due to the cooling temperature. One of our customers,
Ray caught a beautiful Brown, 4lb 6oz. on Sunday the 16th on a Rapala.
Lure casters try Rapalas, and Panther Martin spinners. Bait casters
should try split-shotting inflated nightcrawlers, salmon eggs,
crickets, Gulp Eggs, and Gulp Nightcrawlers. Fly fishermen have had
success using hoppers, nymphs, mayflies, stimulators, adams, caddis,
humpy's, and woolly buggers....
Lake Alpine's ramp is almost out of the water. Aluminum boats are your
best bet for boating access. Trollers should try Needlefish, Apex, and
Glitter Bugs tipped with a nightcrawler behind a small dodger or try a
flasher/nightcrawler combo. Bait casters should try inflated
nightcrawler, salmon eggs, Gulp Power Bait, Gulp Eggs, and Floating
Power Eggs. Lure fishermen should try Rapalas, Kastmasters, and Panther
Martin spinners. Fly fishermen have been successful using bead head
woolly buggers, sparrow nymphs, caddis, stimulators, nymphs, and adams.
White Pines Lake located near Arnold has also picked up due to cooler
weather. You should try floating Power Eggs using a cast-a-bubble on a
30" to 36" leader.
Spicer has been dropping and the ramp and the dock is now out of the
water making it tough to launch. For troller able to launch you should
try Apex, Needlefish, and Glitter Bugs tipped with a nightcrawler
behind a small dodger. Bait casters should try inflated nightcrawlers,
salmon eggs, Gulp Power Bait, and floating Power Eggs. Lure casters
should try Kastmasters, Rapalas, and Panther Martin spinners. Fly
fishermen should try woolly buggers, caddis, sparrow nymphs, nymphs,
adams, and mayflies.
Mosquito Lake has still been producing some beautiful fish. Bait
casters should try inflated nightcrawlers, floating Power Eggs, salmon
eggs, Gulp Power Bait, and Gulp Eggs. Lure casters should try Rapalas,
Kastmasters, Rooster Tail's, and Panther Martin spinners. Fly fishermen
should try woolly buggers, caddis, nymphs, adams, humpy's, and
mayflies.
Deer Season for rifle opens this upcoming weekend for D-5.
Congratulations to Marty Wilhelm as he took a big 4 x 4 buck with his
bow at 60 yards.
