Best Bet National Hunting and Fishing Day
National Hunting and Fishing Day
If you enjoy hunting, fishing or archery then you won’t want to miss the
Department of Natural Resources’ eighth annual National Hunting and
Fishing Day.
Participants will learn about fly tying, bass fishing, hunting safety
and archery. The day is centered on hands-on activities that are fun for
all ages and skill levels.
Festivities are to include a casting contest for children, muzzleloader
demonstrations, a wild animal exhibit, shotgun and .22-caliber rifle
range shooting, tree stand hunting safety, boating safety demonstrations
and fly fishing.
National Hunting and Fishing Day is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at
the DNR Cohen Campbell Fish Hatchery, 1528 Fish Hatchery Road, West
Columbia.
All events are free and sponsored by the Weatherby Foundation, Harry
Hampton Wildlife Fund, S.C. Wildlife Federation and S.C. Department of
Natural Resources.
